Hi, and welcome to this month’s podcast where we’ll be introducing Sarah, the newest addition to the team.

Welcome to ADL Consultancy. So who are you related to in the family? Well, let’s just say I’ve got a few ties across the team. Joseph is my husband, Stephen is my dad, Martin is my older brother, and Jennifer is my sister-in-law. And if that wasn’t enough, Dave and Lucy are also family. They’re my brother’s brother and sister-in-law. Basically, if you’re trying to map out the ADL family tree, you might need a whiteboard and a strong cup of coffee. But that’s what makes it special, working with people you trust who also happen to be family.

Tell us about your background in previous jobs. I’ve been passionate about photography since I was 14 and that dream led me to start my own business straight out of school and I shot my first solo wedding at just 16. Alongside that, Joseph and I ran a successful cleaning company for eight years, which we sold last year. It was a busy but rewarding chapter.

What did you like the most about being a photographer? I loved capturing the moments that often go unnoticed. You know, the little details that truly tell the story of a wedding day, the creative process from planning to delivering the final gallery. It was incredibly fulfilling and hearing how much clients love their photos; it made it all worthwhile.

Considering how successful you were, why did you decide to give it up and join ADL Consultancy? So I’m currently in my final year of shooting weddings and while photography will always be close to my heart, I’ve realised I’m ready for a new challenge. What I wanted at 14 is really quite different from what I want now, and the opportunity to join ADL came just at the right time. It feels like the perfect next step.

What’s your role within the business? I still get to tap into my creative side, which I love. I work on content creation with Jenny and bring my camera along to all our events. Basically, if there’s something happening, I’m probably behind the lens. I also handle a mix of admin tasks and funnily enough, I’ve become the unofficial social media coach, training our consultants on how to use LinkedIn without accidentally posting a selfie or liking their own posts. But on a more serious note, I’m currently training to become a quality and environmental consultant, which is a whole new challenge, but I’m really excited about it.

What do you feel you bring to the company? ADL already runs like a well-oiled machine and I’ve been helping keep it that way, building our social media presence, staying on top of invoicing and making sure the creative side really shines. I bring a mix of business experience, creativity and a sharp eye for detail. Whether it’s streamlining day-to-day tasks or creating content that reflects who we are as a company and a family, I love finding ways to make things more efficient and engaging and helpful for our clients.

What are your goals for the future? Next year, I’d love to be fully certified as a quality consultant and maybe even add environmental consultant to the list too. I’m really enjoying learning something new and growing into this next chapter with ADL. It feels like the right time to take on a fresh challenge and see where it leads.

That’s amazing. Thanks for talking with us. Thanks for listening to this month’s podcast and we hope to see you soon.
